Chronic venous insufficiency of the limbs is often a disease that appears at all ages. The most common difficulties are swelling and pain in the legs after standing or sitting for a long time, but the disease can also progress to the stage where wounds – venous ulcers appear. Diagnostics is based on ultrasonography, and treatment can be classic surgery, endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) or conservative treatment.
Acute deep vein thrombosis is an urgent condition, which can become additionally more complex by pulmonary embolism. It requires rest and the use of anticoagulant therapy.
