Assist. dr sc. med. Sasa Borović was born in 1967 in Belgrade. He is the head of the Center for Cardiac Insufficiency and Heart Transplant. He obtained the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Belgrade in 2017. He is a specialist in general surgery and a subspecialist in cardiac surgery. He works as a cardiac surgeon at the Cardiac Surgery Clinic. He received his professional training at the Department of Cardiac and Vascular Surgery at the John Paul II Hospital, Krakow, Poland; Texas Heart Institute, Cardiac Transplantation / Mechanical Circulatory Support Houston, USA. He graduated from the European School of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Bergamo, Italy (levels 1, 2 and 3). He is a member of the Serbian Society for Cardiovascular Surgery (SSCVS) and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). The areas of subspecialty he is interested in are: cardiac insufficiency treatment, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. He is fluent in English.
