Prof. Dr. Ivan Stojanović was born in 1968 in Belgrade. He obtained the title of doctor of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Belgrade in 1992. He is a specialist in general surgery and a subspecialist in cardiac surgery. He is a doctor of medical sciences. He works as a cardiac surgeon at the Cardiac Surgery Clinic and is the head of the Center for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at the Institute. He is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. He received his professional training at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, UCL Mon- Godinne in Belgium and HEGP in Paris with Prof. A. Carpenter, USA, at the St. Donato Clinic in Milan and at the Royal Coll. He is a member of the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery EACTS, the American Association for Thoracic Surgery STS, the European and Serbian Society for Cardiovascular Surgery ESVCS and SRSCVS. The area of subspecialty he is interested in is minimally invasive endoscopic cardiac surgery and reconstructive heart valve surgery.
